It's official...

I am going to be a Stay At Home Mom once Colin arrives in January 2012!!!  I am so excited and so nervous about this major decision.  I have worked and had my own money since I was 15 years old.  I told my boss today and he took it really well - he said he felt like it was coming.  I may still work for him on nights and weekends when he needs me and around John's work schedule.  It is going to be tight - but we will not have a problem paying our bills - we will just have to cut back on extras.  I hope I am able to be a good stay at home mom - the plan is to go back to work once Colin is about 18 to 24 months old.  I would want to put him in daycare/school at that time because I think it will be good for him to learn and grow and learn to share and be around other children.  I hope I can make some stay at home mom friends too.  Onto the next chapter of my life - it sure is going to be a change.

Yay! I get to stay at home too. It's so great. And, honestly, I haven't found it too difficult to cut back on the extras because things like going out to eat or to the movies would be too much of a hassle with our baby, even if the money was there! Enjoy it!

Also, I'm not sure how you feel about this kind of stuff, but I've bought a lot of baby items off craigslist, like the bumbo, exersaucer for CHEAP. And, I bought a ton of baby stuff here. It is definitely worth checking out. (so many of the clothes still had the originaltags on them!!)

Hooray! That's super exciting. I *love* being a SAHM. Yes, it can be mundane and repetitious (but that's not unlike most jobs I guess), and challenging, but no other job in the world is as rewarding! I love what jeanna said about not regretting this decision because they are only a baby for a short time!

I'm so happy this worked out for you! And I'm really glad you'll still have the option to fit in some work if you want to. I love my days home with my son but I'm not gonna lie, sometimes going to work on the weekends is a welcome break. :)

So happy for you!!!! Being a SAHM is what all of us that have fought so dang hard to get these children here deserve. I know you will love it and just love spending every day with you sweet little guy. Congrats!!
