Holy Shots

Why did no one tell me - after I wrote my last post - the day after Colin got his shots - he was a bit cranky but okay - well that night oh goodness it was horrible - he cried from 8 pm to 4 am - non stop crying - crying so hard it was breaking my heart - and he had a fever.  No one told me to give him Tynlnol - I only gave it to him after a call to the doctor around 9 pm and after he was already running a fever and no one told me his leg would hurt - I think that is why he was screaming more than from the fever.  It was a bad night - he was crying and I was crying - so to all the new moms out there - for the two month shots - make sure you give them medicine before hand and make sure you ice the leg they get the shots in because it will be sore - I wish someone would of told me ahead of time.

My little guy is also still stuffy - it has been over a week now - I was getting worried so I took him back to the doctors yesterday - they said it is just a cold and hopefully on its way out - his lungs are clear and he is eating and going to the bathroom so no need to worry and really nothing I can do for him - other than the humidifier and saline drops.

The humidifer is a whole other story - I opened it for the first time the other night and put it on and it was like a jackhammer - it was so so so loud - too loud to keep on all night - so we are heading out today to get a new one.  Do not buy the Vicks CoolMist Humidifer - it is a piece of junk.

My little man is 11 weeks old now - time is flying - I just love being home with him - he is such a good and happy baby - even when he is sick.

Eek! No one told you??? I never iced the leg afterwards, but tylenol for sure. Some people to say dose it before the shots, but we always do it after. Now the girls don't really need the tylenol, but when they were really little and were getting lots of shots I think it helped.
Poor little thing! Hope he feels better soon! Stuffy noses on babies are the worst because there's not a darn thing you can do about it!

my pediatrican says there are studies out now that say DO NOT PREDOSE your children with tylenol. It has some effect on the effacy of how the shots work immediately in the body, but if later they actually HAVE afever then you can give it. SO i did not predose Chloe, and thankfully she never needed it. She was cranky and legs were sore but she never needed it. 4 month shots are one less shot but any shot is harrifying to watch yourbaby go through.

The worst thing yet was getting her blood drawn at the children's hospital yesterday. AWFUL- just wait until you have to hold them for that- Never do I want to do that again!!!

Hoping little Colin feels better and he is so cute!!!
