One week until I meet my little man - I am so filled with emotions - I never thought this day would come. All of the time, money, effort, tears and love that have been put into trying to conceive this child. All the heart ache of the first miscarriage and all of the BFN's have lead to him and I would have it no other way - everything happens for a reason and I honestly think infertility and our struggle has given me the strength, courage and patience I need to be a good mom to Colin. We are so very blessed.
Moms - any last minute advice you want to give this first time mom??
I would also love to hear any positive induction stories.

Hi there, I had a positive induction. I was 1cm and 80% @ 40 weeks, and started with pitocin around 10pm on my due date. I did not end up needing an epidural (though it did hurt, I won't lie!) and was 10cm around 4:30am. I pushed for 40 minutes give or take and our son was born at 5:08am. I was induced for low amniotic fluid and some decelerations in fetal heart tones with contractions.
Good luck with yours! I hope things move quickly and easily for you and I look forward to the update!!
So excited for you. I am so happy that I've been able to be part of this journey via your blog. I remember praying so hard for you guys from the beginning!
If you need the epidural, GET IT! I was in A LOT of pain until I got it, then it was pretty good from that point (although I ended up with a c-section). Pack warm socks and don't forget your chapstick!!!
Those of us who have been on the IF road and are lucky enough to have our miracle babies know that once you see and hold your baby, you will experience a love that is indescribable! It will make all the waiting and the whole journey worth it!
Good luck!
My induction was great! I was induced at 40 weeks. I was only 1 cm at the time, and I'd been 1cm for 3 weeks. My pitocin was started at 8:15 am, I got my epidural when I was 5cm at noon, and she was born after 3 pushes at 3:12 in the afternoon. Everything was textbook and perfect. I was very relieved. I wasn't sure if i would get an epidural or not, but the pitocin makes the contractions intense a lot more quickly than a "natural" labor. I was glad to have it. Once I got my epidural and relaxed a little bit, I went from 5 to 10cm in 3 hours! Best of luck to you!
Advice: SLEEP at the hospital and don't feel guilty sending Colin to the nursery (even though it's hard). You need to recover and you'll be on your own once you get home do take all the help you can get.
Good luck!!! Can't wait to see pictures of your cutie.
you are SOO close!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Counting down the days with you!
My induction ended with a C-section, so probably not the most positive story out there. Even so, Andrew was born healthy and in the end that's all that matters. I wish you the best luck with your induction and just know that your baby's health and saftey and your health and safety are the most important things.
Advice for after you come home -- sleep whenever you can, ask for help if you need it, let other people do things you wouldn't normally let them do whether it's cooking or laundry or even changing the baby. Enjoy those tender moments when your baby is sleeping on your chest. Those first weeks seem like an eternity because of the lack of sleep and the whole thing is just very overwhelming, but those moments are so fleeting. Before you know it, it's gone. Enjoy every minute, Mama!
Love is what your baby needs more than anything else on the planet, so obvious and seemingly so easy, yet it can take a lot of focus/effort to remember that when they are screaming in the middle of the night, or in the car, or in the checkout line and you are frantic to "fix" it.
Accept any/all offers of help. I regret saying no to everyone and everything.
Best wishes from a long time follower... I have been silently cheering you on and am so glad the time has finally come for you and your family to meet this miracle.
Enjoy all that is to come!
Sending you lots of good wishes and prayers for a healthy delivery and baby! So excited this is finally happening for you:)
