For Jeanna,
Since you asked - here is the new recipe I found that I made last night for taco salad and it turned out pretty well.
I do not use any boxed items any long.
I used 1 pound of organic ground beef - for the seasoning of the mean I used the following:
1 tablespoon of Chili Powder
1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of black pepper
It taste just like the box mix - it was a little spicy though so I will only use 1/2 a tablespoon of chili powder next time.
I also had lettuce, tomatoes, corn, organic black beans, brown rice and corn chips. Mix them all together and you have your taco salad.
Of course bought taco cheese and salsa for John - but I did not use them in my taco salad and it turned out great.

Yummy! That sounds awsome. I will have to make that because my hubby loves mexican food. He requests tacos at least once a week.
see Melissa wanted the recipe too! That sounds so yummy! I just started a recipe box and I am going to add this with your name next to it. "Jackie's Organic Taco Salad" We, also LOVE mexican food in my house! I was born in Albuquerque and lived on pinto beans the first 2 years of my life!
This sounds great. It's a lot simpler than other recipes I have seen, and I just might be able to find all of those ingredients here. Thanks so much!
I'm SO glad to see that your feeling better!!!
