Just a Couple

I write alot about the things I am missing - the family I so desire - but this weekend really got me thinking about all the good things I have in my life right now.

Not for nothing but everything changes when you have a baby - their needs come first - always. So I will admit - I like my selfish time. I like that I was able to go to the store on Friday night and get myself new outfits without feeling guilty - I like that I can come and go as I please.

If I had a child I would not be able to come and go as I please and spend money like I do - go out to dinner on a whim and sleep in - so they are some of the nice things I can do since I am childless.

I am very grateful for the life I have. I know there are so many benefits to having a family but I just wanted to say it is not so bad - just being a couple.

Good for you for finding the silver lining! I have always told my husband that we had our empty nest days first! And, for the most part, they have been very happy days.

So true. Before we did IVF we took advantage of what we wouldn't be able to do if we were to have kids. Going out to eat, shopping, sleeping in and we went to Europe twice. You have a great outlook.

Enjoy the couple time. I feel like our marriage is stronger because we had so much couple time together (10 years). Through it all, we learned so much. Stay postive!
