Crying in the Bathroom

The vice president boss - if you follow this blog then you know he is my drunk boss had his disco music on so loudly this morning at 8 am- so I said to him - can you please turn your music down a bit - well he flipped out on me - he said - I will just shut fucking door (to his office) and slammed it shut - then he comes out and starts yelling at me saying the head boss (president) hates when my phone rings - and I said my phone only rings for a minute and it is not like I even get calls everyday and he said I have to take it up with the head boss and he kept yelling at me saying he never gets to do what he wants to do and he is tired of me - and I asked him why he was yelling at me - and he just went back in his office and slammed the door and then head boss came out and instead of defending me and saying sorry for drunk boss screaming at me - no head boss told me to put my phone on vibrate because he was tired of hearing it - are you kidding me - my phone may ring once a week if that - I am so upset right now - I had to go in the bathroom because I was crying - I do not deserve to get treated like this.

It is my own fault for staying here - I only applied to one job since all this has been going on - I did not hear back from them so I gave up - so it is my own fault for being in this situation. I really need to get out of here - but I have no clue what I should do - I do NOT want to work for lawyers - that is for sure - I have no clue what I want to do - I would love to work in the hospital - but it is like who you know not what you know. I am going to start seriously looking now - because I am tired of being treated like shit.

I totally get where you are. I used to work at a job where I would wonder how hard I would have to it the guard rail in order to justify not going into work!!!! It was horrible!!! I did leave and accepted a job for $10K a year less!!! Best decision I ever made. No amount of money was worth that abuse!! My piece of mind, sanity, health, well-being and drained emotional status was worth every penny of the pay reduction--and then some!!! Good Luck getting out of there and finding a more professional place to work.

I'm so very sorry. A friend of mine worked for lawyers so I know that it can be crazy to work for a law firm. The way they are treating you is awful! I'm praying that you find a new job soon.

OMG I am so sorry that you are in such a horrible work environment.

Put that resume out, and do it fast. Get away from these terrible people. You should report them to someone, I don't know who, but someone!

I would just apply to any and everything you think might work well for you. If you go into with not expecting to hear back, then it's all the more pleasant when you do. Applying can be stressful, but it could lead to something better...

I hope you are able to get out of their sooner rather than later. They are the last thing you need to be dealing with!

I am so sorry Jackie. I hope you find something else soon, I know it is hard, especially in the current job market. But I agree with the other people and just apply to everything. Something may not seem interesting at first glance, but it may be good once you look into it further.
Also, DH and I were talking to his new lawyer yesterday and he is a nice guy, but he basically said how we need to listen to him because he has a great reputation and was recommended to us by 2 people who don't know each other...it reminded me of your facebook post the other day about how all guy lawyers think they are so great. I don't know how you work with people like that all day long.
